According to NACAC, college success begins long before students ever apply for admission.

The rigor of a student’s high school curriculum has been identified in numerous studies as a leading predictor of college and career success—far more so than standardized test results.

It makes sense, then, that according to NACAC member surveys, admission officers give highest consideration to students’ high school coursework and performance when evaluating applications for admission.

Alex Tucker, class of 2013:

"Mrs. Bush was incredibly helpful in coordinating with the admissions office at my first choice school which ultimately led to my early acceptance! I definitely attribute my successful college career to a smooth and confident start as part of my college experience. She was immensely knowledgeable about the admissions processes and requirements, but also very understanding about my wants and needs as a student. I am very thankful to have had her as my counselor during my transition to college academics."
